Care and Maintenance for Kiwami Area Rugs

Kiwami area rugs are generally easy to clean when the correct spot cleaning procedure is used. 

The cleaning should begin with a "terry cloth" towel made slightly damp with warm water. Once damp, lightly rub the area to be cleaned.  Too much water or dampness may cause matting.  If the stain doesn't come clean with plain water, then a very small amount of soap or detergent can be used, again lightly rubbing with a slightly damp terry cloth towel.  No bleach or any products containing bleach should be used on the rug. 

Alternatively, use standard carpet cleaning chemicals designed for synthetic fibers. 

Frequent vacuuming is recommended, however, steam cleaning and/or the use of brushes is not recommended.
